Praveen Jain, the proprietor of Badri Helicopters, explains that for non-wedding events, helicopters are typically rented on an hourly basis. With the growing popularity of helicopters in weddings, aviation companies now offer fixed packages for the bride’s farewell. These packages range from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 10 lakh, depending on factors such as the distance to the destination and the seating capacity of the helicopter.
Currently, Praveen Jain’s company offers a 5-seater helicopter for Rs 4,50,000 in Delhi-NCR and Haryana. The rental cost increases to approximately Rs 6,00,000 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, and its neighbouring areas. For transporting the bride from Amritsar and Jalandhar in Punjab to Delhi-NCR, the expense is around Rs 5 lakh. Additionally, the fare from Banaras to Delhi-NCR is approximately Rs 9,00,000.
As per Praveen Jain, the package includes a two-hour availability of the helicopter. Typically, individuals prefer the helicopter to arrive just before the farewell, allowing them to take their daughter-in-law and depart. If circumstances require the helicopter to stay longer, additional payment is necessary at the helicopter’s hourly rate. The specific additional fare varies among operators.
If your budget permits, you can book a helicopter either online or offline. Numerous major travel websites offer online helicopter booking services. On the other hand, for offline bookings, you can visit the G-5 building situated in front of Terminal One at Delhi Airport. This building houses offices of prominent aviation companies that provide helicopter rentals.
Captain Yogesh Gupta explains that obtaining two types of permissions is necessary for the landing and takeoff of a helicopter. The first permission comes from the Air Force, and the second one must be obtained from the airport authority or local administration. However, helicopter operators typically handle all the necessary permissions, alleviating any concerns for the individuals involved. Additionally, the responsibility of identifying the landing site, preparing it to accommodate the helicopter, painting an ‘H,’ and creating a specific type of smoke just before landing is managed by the representative of the helicopter operator.
