Citibank To Axis Bank Credit Card Switch Completes Today: What You Need to Know
The switch from Citibank to Axis Bank credit cards will be finished today, according to Axis Bank.

Customers with Citibank credit cards can start using their new Axis Bank card(s) on their current Citi-branded card(s) to get benefits when the migration is completed.

It is important to note that your Citi-branded card(s) will continue to work normally until you eventually acquire the fresh Axis Bank card(s) within months following the migration.

With effect from July 2024, Axis Bank will phase out nine Citibank credit cards following the ownership transfer of Citi Bank. The former has developed seven new card varieties in this regard.

The base-focused category is still the same, but certain modifications and additions may significantly affect cardholders’ ability to save money.

The Axis Bank website has the following significant FAQs for owners of Citibank credit cards:

Should you already be a client of Axis Bank, you have been given a special Axis Bank Customer Number.

Following the migration, your current Axis Bank Customer ID will be linked to your whole Citi connection.

If there is no prior link between you and Axis Bank, you will get an SMS with your new Axis Bank Customer ID.

Transactions and card information:

Minimal modifications to the credit card usage patterns of clients have been guaranteed by Axis Bank.

The card’s number, PIN, expiration date, and CVV won’t change.

The limitations and restrictions on card usage (such as contactless, e-commerce, point-of-sale, ATM, and foreign transactions) won’t alter.

Both outstanding amounts and continuing EMIs won’t be impacted.

The billing cycle will not change, nor will the dates for statement creation and payment due.

Both spend-based fee waivers and annual fees will remain unchanged.

However, Axis Bank channels will replace Citibank channels as the payment channels. Customers will now access their digital services through the Axis Bank Internet Banking and Mobile Banking App.

Alerts and customer service:

Axis Bank Phone Banking will replace Citi Phone as the primary customer service provider.

Portals for e-commerce payment authentication and transaction notifications will now have the Axis Bank logo.

Reward points:

As of the migration day, all reward points that have not yet been used will be changed to either EDGE Miles or Axis EDGE REWARD Points, with no change in value.

Points accrued before the migration date are non-expiring, while points acquired afterward will do so after three years provided no transaction, reward redemption, or EDGE REWARDS portal login occurs during that year.

Axis Bank will submit any current e-NACH instructions for credit card payback to your bank three days before the payment deadline to guarantee prompt credit to the credit card account.
