Mumbai: After getting the Maintainance, Repairing and Overhaul (MRO) facility of Boeing at Nagpur with an investment of Rs 10 crore, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Praful Patel is all set to bring Airbus, another company, to make investment on the same lines in Nashik.
In an exclusive telephonic conversation with UNI, Patel said, ''We are trying to get Airbus MRO facility at Nashik too. This will help in decentralising the progress of Maharashtra apart from Mumbai-Pune belt.''
Last month Patel had signed MoU for MRO facility of Boeing at Nagpur. The second capital of Maharashtra, Nagpur is also going to become a major cargo hub.
Patel, who is on a spree to develop the booming aviation industry, said, ''A proposal is also in place to increase the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) upto 74 per cent in helicopter services''.
''This will obviously help in linking the nearby cities like Mumbai-Nashik and private entrepreneurs will be able to take benefit of the same,'' he added.
