The match will be noted for the encounter between star Indian batter Kohli and Afghan pacer Naveen, who resume their rivalry after the much-debated heated moment between the two during the clash between the sides in last year's edition of the money-rich tournament.

The 2024 edition of the IPL is in full swing and the T20 extravaganza brings another mouthwatering fixture as Royal Challengers Bengaluru welcome Lucknow Super Giants to the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

The match will be noted for the encounter between star Indian batter Virat Kohli and Afghan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq, who resume their rivalry after the much-debated heated moment between the two during the clash between the sides in last year’s edition of the money-rich tournament.

Kohli and Naveen were seen to be involved in a verbal spat after the conclusion of the tie between the sides in the 2023 edition of the tournament after RCB had registered an 18-run win over LSG. The incident spilt over as Gautham Gambhir also got involved and the saga dragged on for a while with the players taking digs at each other on social media platforms too.

However, the controversy surrounding the incident was put to bed as Kohli and Naveen hugged it out during a game between India and Afghanistan after the conclusion of the IPL.

Both sides come into the game with to points to their name, however, RCB have played one game more than LSG in the ongoing campaign.

RCB have 2 points from three games after picking up a win over PBKS, while going down to Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders.

LSG, who have played just two games thus far in the season, also have 2 points to their name following their triumph over Punjab in their previous engagement following an opening-round loss to Rajasthan Royals.

Ahead of the game, LSG are placed sixth in the table with a net run rate of +0.025, while RCB stand ninth with a much inferior NRR of -0.711.

The team that manages to post a win at the typically high-scoring cricket stadium in Bengaluru will go to the fifth place in the standings, at the very least, if not higher, depending on the margin of the win and the impact it would have on the net run rate, which could propel the victors higher.
