A biryani party at Ambati Rayudu’s home looks to have become an annual tradition for Chennai Super Kings players. Last year, when the team travelled to Hyderabad for an away game, Rayudu treated the members of the Yellow Army with the favourite dish of the city. Rayudu might not be a part of the squad this season but he didn’t forget to host his ex-CSK teammates on their Hyderabad visit. The reigning champions are gearing up for their second home game of the ongoing IPL. They will lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on April 5.
Following their last match against Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings got a four-day break. They had jetted off to Hyderabad on Tuesday, April 2. Ahead of the big-ticket clash against SRH, some members of the CSK unit gathered in the house of Ambati Rayudu to attend a biryani party.

A glimpse of the get-together was shared on the official Instagram account of the Chennai-based franchise. The caption of the post read, “The Mandatory Biryani Party when in ATR’s (Ambati Thirupathi Rayudu) town!”
In the picture, Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, Shivam Dubey and Mukesh Chaudhary were spotted posing along with Ambti Rayudu. A plate of Hyderabadi biryani was also kept on a table in front of them. Rayudu also clicked a photograph with Jadeja and the duo sported the CSK training kit.
Ambati Rayudu announced his IPL retirement after securing his sixth title with CSK last season. At the trophy presentation ceremony, the winning captain, MS Dhoni, let Rayudu lift the trophy at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Hyderabad. Rayudu is part of the commentary panel for the official broadcaster of the IPL this year.
As far as CSK’s performance is concerned, the five-time champions kicked off the campaign in their iconic fashion, under the leadership of their new captain Ruturaj Gaikwad. After defeating RCB by six wickets in the season opener, CSK replicated the dominance in the following game against last year’s runners-up Gujarat Titans. They registered a commanding 63-run win over GT at Chepauk.
In their last match against Delhi Capitals, CSK suffered a 20-run loss. Despite the defeat, the fans could witness glimpses of vintage Dhoni in Vizag. The former India captain played a blazing 37-run knock off 16 balls which was laced with four boundaries and three sixes.
