Desis have an uncanny knack for unintentional humor and wit. Sometimes, the way they express themselves inadvertently sets off waves of laughter among others. This was perfectly illustrated recently when a screenshot of a Google review became an internet sensation, all for a hilariously unexpected reason. It showcased a review left for a carpenter in Bengaluru nearly a year ago, with wording that packed an unexpected double punch, leaving Desis in stitches.
The story unfolds with an anonymous individual, seemingly a fan of a Bengaluru carpenter named Syed Bhai, deciding to leave a Google review. Little did this person know that their statement would become an enduring source of amusement online, even a year later. The review read, “Syed bhai good in bed. Best bedder in Bangalore.” Wait, what? Clearly, the reviewer didn’t intend for it to be funny, but that’s precisely what happened. Even if they had intended humour, it still caught everyone’s attention due to the cheeky dual interpretation that everyone was chuckling about.

As expected, the screenshot went viral, prompting hilariously clever responses. One user quipped, “Syed bhai can do anything.” Another humourously commented, “I saw a documentary on his life. In that the carpenter comes in, and beds the client. Google it, you’ll find it i’m sure.” A third user playfully added, “1 year ho gaya, Happy bedding anniversary syed bhai.”
Meanwhile, the city of Bengaluru continued to serve up its trademark brand of humour. Recently, an auto-rickshaw took social media by storm with its clever and hilarious message. Shared on the micro-blogging platform ‘X,’ the picture featured an auto-rickshaw displaying the words, “Love is like a walk in the park.” However, the twist came when ‘Jurassic Park’ was cheekily added in red letters below, revealing the hidden humour behind the seemingly straightforward words. Undoubtedly, this creative wordplay had everyone bursting into laughter.
