Renowned film producer Rockline Venkatesh is in the news currently, but not for any film. Robbers stole gold ornaments valued at Rs 3 crore from his brother, businessman B N Bramaresh’s home in Bengaluru. The incident took place on October 21 at his Mahalakshmi Layout home. On October 29, after returning from a trip to Greece, Bramaresh and his family discovered that the house had been looted. Upon opening the locker, the family discovered that approximately Rs 6 lakh in cash, as well as 5.5 kilograms of gold ornaments worth Rs 3, crore, were gone.
A complaint was filed at the Mahalakshmi Layout police station. Senior law enforcement officials stated that evidence was gathered from the residence by the fingerprint unit and other technological units. The police claimed they had organised six squads to find the offenders.
It is believed that the theft was organised and the burglars came to know about the family’s absence through photos shared on social media by Bramaresh. The family shared photos of their trip to Greece on Facebook in a public post. Police believe that the burglars took advantage of it and planned the robbery.
“It was done by someone who was aware of Bramaresh’s family absence and had monitored his movements. It was only after the family returned from the tour that the security guard was informed about it as well. The security guy has been detained for additional interrogation,” said police. There is a building that is under construction just adjacent to Bramaresh’s residence. It is believed that the thieves broke into the house through this building. The probe revealed that the thieves entered by breaking the door from the top floor of the house.
