Traffic Curbs On 3.5-km Strech of Agra-Lucknow Expressway From April 2 to 11, Here's Why
Traffic will be diverted to service roads due to Indian Air Force's Gagan Shakti exercise on the stretch between Bangarmau and Unnao

A 3.5-kilometre-long stretch on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway will remain closed from April 2 to April 11.

Traffic will be diverted to service roads due to Indian Air Force’s Gagan Shakti exercise on the stretch between Bangarmau and Unnao.

The affected part of the expressway will be barricaded on both sides in order to facilitate the landing of fighter aircrafts like Jaguar, Sukhoi and Mirage-2000 during the military exercise.

As per a Jagran report, preparations for the exercise will be done from from April 2 to April 5 and it will include cleaning the airstrip area with water, followed by dust removal using a pressure machine and airstrip marking.

The traffic diversion will be carried out efficiently while maintaining the traffic flow and despite temporary inconvenience.

This year the event will mark it’s third time. Earlier in 2016, six fighter jets landed during the time of inauguration of the expressway followed by a subsequent exercise in October 2017 which witnessed aircrafts like Mirage-2000, Sukhoi, Jaguar and Hercules in action.

The Indian Air Force’s Gagan Shakti exercise will take place on April 6 and April 7 and locals will be able to see fighter aircrafts like Jaguar, Sukhoi, Mirage-2000 and Hercules.
