Triumph is all set to launch 2017 tiger explorer in India by the end of July as per various media reports. The company is selling the Tiger Explorer XC for the last few years now and it has been in India since 2014. The new 2017 model of uses an updated 1,215cc in-line 3-cylinder engine that now delivers more power and churns out 137 bhp and 123 Nm. The 2017 Tiger Explorer is already on sale abroad. The bike comes in six different variants in the foreign market across the XR and XC range and it is expected that Triumph will only launch XCx variant in India.
The new 2017 tiger also offers three rider modes – Road, Rain and Off-road along with traction control and ABS that change as per the mode selection. It also gets a hydraulic torque assist clutch to reduce lever effort and riding fatigue. The XC-series model which is expected to hit the Indian market, gets a 19-inch front wheel keeping heavy off-road in focus.
When launched, the 2017 Tiger Explorer XCx is expected to be priced at Rs 21 lakh – Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom) and in this segment it competes with the likes of Ducati Multistrada 1200 S and BMW S 1000 XR.
