Social media has erupted with speculation about the earrings Kamala Harris wore during her debate against Donald Trump, leading to conspiracy theories.
Shortly after the debate between the two White House contenders ended on Tuesday, wild claims started swirling on ‘X’ suggesting that Harris’ earrings may have been a secret device, drawing a comparison to a similar-looking earphone design featured in a tech article.
I think Kamala did a great job tonight in the debate against Trump, who I think is a great orator and debator himself. But her earrings intrigued me a lot. May be because I got reminded of similar looking ones from some tech article on an earphone that looks like earrings. pic.twitter.com/xZ5qfLKXEZ— Aravind (@aravind) September 11, 2024
‘Busted’
“I think Kamala did a great job tonight in the debate against Trump, who I think is a great orator and debator himself. But her earrings intrigued me a lot. May be because I got reminded of similar-looking ones from some tech article on an earphone that looks like earrings,” a social media user said in a post on X. Without providing any evidence for his theory, another user wrote, “If you think Kamala sounded a lot like Obama tonight…she probably did. BUSTED!”

‘Crazy stuff if true’
Dozens of users came forward to support this wild claim. “Apparently Kamala was wearing an earpiece. It’s not my picture, but someone found this is a near match to a mic earing earlier. Crazy stuff if true,” one of the users said. Some took the conspiracy even further and claimed, “The company went bankrupt. I suppose those could have been prototypes, but it seems REALLY UNLIKELY those earrings are related to that Kickstarter. Guarantee other sneaky earrings exist though.”
On Tuesday, Harris put her Republican rival Trump on the defensive in a combative presidential debate with a stream of attacks on his fitness for office, his support of abortion restrictions and his myriad legal woes. A former prosecutor, Harris, 59, controlled the debate from the start, getting under her rival’s skin repeatedly and prompting Trump, 78, to deliver angry retorts.
