Elon Musk’s estranged daughter, Vivian Wilson, has publicly slammed her father following his comment on Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Democratic nominee Kamala Harris for the upcoming US presidential election.
Swift’s endorsement came shortly after the intense debate between Harris and former President Donald Trump, where she expressed her support for Harris. In her Instagram post, Swift referred to herself as a “childless cat lady,” a term previously used by Trump’s running mate Senator JD Vance to mock women without children.
‘Heinous incel nonsense’
Musk’s reaction to Swift’s endorsement included a post that read: “Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life.” This comment drew backlash from social media users, who described it as “weird” and “creepy.” Wilson, who came out as transgender in 2022, responded to her father’s post on Instagram’s Threads, labeling it “heinous incel nonsense.”
‘Belittling and incredibly sexist’
She stressed that such remarks are belittling and sexist, urging her followers not to tolerate such language. “It’s disgusting, it’s belittling and incredibly sexist. You deserve better,” she wrote. Wilson also gave her verdict on the presidential contest between the two nominees saying the Democratic candidate Harris “demolished the debate.”
“Also, yes, I saw the tweet. Heinous incel nonsense is in fact heinous incel nonsense. I don’t really have anything to add to it, it’s just abhorrent. That much is obvious and if you don’t see how then you’re part of the problem. I would just like to say to my audience members, don’t let people talk to you like that. It’s disgusting, it’s belittling and incredibly sexist. You deserve better,” Wilson wrote on Threads while referring to his father’s post on X.
The strained ties between Musk and Wilson have been evident since she petitioned a US court to change her name and gender in June 2022, opting to take her mother’s last name instead of Musk’s. The Tesla CEO has publicly expressed his disapproval of her transition, claiming that he was “tricked” into allowing her gender reassignment surgeries and suggesting that she was “killed by the woke-mind virus.” Wilson has stated that she no longer wishes to be associated with her biological father.
