After King Charles’s diagnosis of cancer, the Princess of Wales has shared that she is also undergoing cancer treatment, adding that she is in the early stages of her treatment. In a video released on Friday, Princess Catherine, formerly known as Kate Middleton said it was a ‘huge shock’ for them after an incredibly tough couple of months’.

Sending a positive message, she said “I am well and getting stronger every day.” The details of her cancer treatment are not disclosed yet, however, Kensington Palace said it is confident the princess will make a full recovery.

She explained that she had abdominal surgery in January and they did not know about the cancer. It was after several tests when cancer was detected. The medical team has advised the princess to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, reported BBC.

Asking other cancer patients to not lose faith and hope, the princess said ‘You are not alone’. She also asks for ‘time, space and privacy’ as she completes her treatment. She added that Prince William had been doing everything to process it ‘privately’, especially for the sake of their young family.

“Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too. As is the love, support, and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both,” she said in the video message.

The White House wished Britain’s Catherine, Princess of Wales, a full recovery on Friday after the “terrible” news of her cancer diagnosis. “All of us just heard the terrible news. Our thoughts are with the Duchess of Cambridge and her family,” Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also shares his thoughts with the royal family, adding that the princess has support and love of the country.

“I know I speak for the whole country in wishing her a full and speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her back in action when she’s ready,” said Sunak.
