Washington: The Federal Election Commission (FEC) has asked the Trump campaign to fix 1,100 errors amounting to USD 1.3 million in campaign donations.
In some cases, the campaign for US President-elect Donald Trump accepted donations from unregistered organisations, and in most of the cases individuals, exceeding their donation limits in the run-up to the presidential election.
CNN said the errors came after Trump made an aggressive shift to digital fundraising in July, based in large part on the stunning success Bernie Sanders had outraising Hillary Clinton at various months in the primaries.
Lary Nobel of the Campaign Legal Center said the FEC letter was "fairly routine".
