Amid ongoing tensions in the royal family following Meghan Markle’s volatile interview with Oprah, Prince Harry and William are set to attend their late mother Princess Diana’s memorial later in the year.
The Duke of Sussex and the Duke of Cambridge are planning to attend the funeral together in the coming summers, Fox News reported.
The brothers who are said to not have interacted with each other for months might be getting together on July 1 this year for the unveiling of the Princess Diana statue at Kensington Gardens, a royal expert Russel Myers stated.
The memorial statue was commissioned by Prince William and Harry in 2017 in honor of their late mother on her 20th death anniversary and will be unveiled on her 60th birthday.
This development comes a day after Prince William and Princess Kate refuted claims made by Meghan Markle that she was a victim of racism at the hands of the royal subjects.
In a no-holds-barred interview with Oprah Winfrey Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle unveiled the ill-treatment meted out to them by the royal family. They also revealed that Markle was subjected to racial comments with respect to the skin tone of her baby prior to his birth. Prince Harry stated that Prince Charles had stopped taking his calls after he got involved with Meghan Markle.
He also disclosed that Charles made it clear that both the brothers should be on ‘different paths’.
However despite such tensions, as per sources Prince Harry has vowed to return to Uk from California for the planned unveiling of a memorial statue that he and his brother together helped commission for his mother.
