In this era of modern cinema, we often see actors breaking language boundaries and acting in films of several regional languages. This provides a series of opportunities for the actors. It has now become a common sight to see prominent stars acting in different languages. We often see actors from different industries of India, acting in one film. This has also provided the producers and directors a chance to cast top actors who work in different languages in one single film. Vijay Sethupathi is one such actor who is known to work in different languages. Besides working in the Tamil film industry he has also worked in Malayalam and Bollywood film industry. According to reports, the actor has declined a film that starts popular Telugu actor Ram Charan. Let us know about this development in this article.
Several months ago, rumours circulated suggesting Vijay Sethupathi would join Ram Charan’s upcoming film RC 16. According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, Sethupathi reportedly turned down the offer because he was not interested in the role presented to him. The role in question was that of Ram Charan’s father. Although Sethupathi has previously played father roles in films like Maharaja and Uppena and received acclaim for his performances, he chose not to take on a similar role in this film.
During a promotional event for the Telugu version of Maharaja, Sethupathi explained his decision. He revealed that director Buchi Babu Sana had shared the script of RC 16 with him and while he recognised the film’s potential to be a major hit, he opted out because he was seeking to explore a broader range of characters. Sethupathi expressed his desire to move away from playing father figures and focus on more diverse roles in his future projects.
The film features Janhvi Kapoor in a leading role opposite Ram Charan. The film is presently in the Pre-production stage and the shooting is expected to hit soon.
