Areas covered with snowfall during the winter season are nothing less than a visual treat. As mercury levels further dipped, different northern regions in India are experiencing snowstorms. However, this plunge in temperature left many amazed. With the onset of wintry weather, some people even took to the micro-blogging site X (Formerly Twitter) to share clips of the delicate snowflakes blanketing various backdrops. Not just that, the hashtag snowfall is trending on X as the platform is flooded with eye-catching shots capturing the ethereal beauty of snowfall, leaving people spellbound. Here’s the complication of a few visuals, snippets of snowfall that have left the users mesmerised.

“Nature’s delicate touch, as snowflakes gracefully descend, turning my village into a serene winter canvas,” wrote an X user. The video shows trees and ground covered in snow.

“Mata Vaishno Devi Temple in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir received fresh snowfall this morning,” ANI posted and shared a video of the area around the temple covered in snow.

Earlier, a post about snowfall and rainfall in various regions was shared on the official X handle of the India Meteorological Department. “Western Himalayan Region (Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand) is also getting rainfall/snowfall activity,” the department wrote.

On January 31, normal life was disrupted in Himachal Pradesh as the tribal areas and other high reaches received the first heavy snowfall of the year, leading to closure of 134 roads, including four national highways.

Delhi experienced a bone-chilling cold on Wednesday as parts of the city received light rainfall, bringing down the maximum temperature to 18.6 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season’s average, and a low of 7.3 degrees Celsius, a notch below the normal, according to the IMD. As per Hindu report, parts of Punjab on January 31 received rain.

According to IMD’s forecast for February, normal to above-normal rainfall is likely over northeast and central India. Below-normal rainfall is predicted over south peninsular India.

Most parts of the country are likely to witness above-normal minimum temperatures next month while northwest, west-central, northeast and parts of east-central India are likely to see above-normal maximum temperatures, according to the IMD.
