Coffee has indeed become an integral part of many people’s morning routines, cherished for its energising kick and comforting aroma. Across the globe, various cultures have developed unique methods to prepare this beloved beverage, each contributing its own unique twist to the coffee experience. But even this seemingly simple drink has not escaped the scrutiny of culinary experimentation. A recent video circulating on the internet shows a shocking twist to the traditional cup of coffee that has left netizens in disbelief.

In the video, you see a cup of coffee sitting innocently on the table. But then, out of nowhere, sliced onion pieces are dumped into the brew. Calvin Lee, a content creator based in Singapore, who shared the video decides to take the sip of this bizarre concoction. But the moment he takes the sip, it’s clear from his reaction that the taste is beyond unpleasant.

Calvin shared the video on Instagram with a caption, “I love onion, but not with coffee.”

Since being shared just over five days ago, the video has racked up over 370,000 views online, sparking a flurry of reactions from users in the comment section.

Some users didn’t mince words, expressing skepticism right off the bat. “The second I saw Onions I knew it would be a bad idea,” remarked one user while another commented, “This is a blasphemy towards coffee #ihateonion.”

“Dude, I remember when you put spring onions in your coffee and nowadays I heard it’s a trend in China,” one person commented.

One commenter hilariously asked, “Are you ok? Should I call the doctors? Do you need help? CUZ THIS IS ILLEGAL.”

“Oh man, I couldn’t do it. Props to you for giving it a try!” admitted one individual.

Then there were some more tongue-in-cheek responses like, “If you ever feel worthless in life.. This video exists.”

In a surprising turn, some even suggested alternative combinations. “Ginger Tea gives me the worst headaches; I’ll try blending onions and adding to coffee. Here’s hoping,” one optimistic commenter shared.

Many users suggested Lee to try other combinations as well. One suggestion read, “The onions should be deep fried and caramel added for better taste.”

“Evern thought your making the for joke, fun fact did you know that onion tea with honey is good for you, it helps with cold flu and with your white blood cells,” a person shared.
