Shubman Gill is currently involved in a five-match Test series against England, underway on home soil. Neither Gill nor the Indian team could make a positive start to the series. The youngster managed only 23 runs in the opening game which India lost by 28 runs. The hosts turned the tables in the following Test.
Shubman Gill registered a century in the second innings while other batters of his side failed to showcase their A-game on the tricky Vizag surface. He returned with a duck in the first innings of the third Test but made the most out of the next opportunity. Gill might have missed the ton by just 9 runs but his contributions helped his team set a mammoth fourth-innings target of 557 runs. India won the match by 434 runs to take a lead in the series.
Shubman Gill will be back in action when the fourth Test between India and England begins on February 23 in Ranchi.
