Anand Mahindra, the chairperson of Mahindra Group, is known for his sharp wit and lively interactions on social media. Recently, Mahindra engaged in a delightful exchange on X (Formerly Twitter) when a post from a user caught his attention. In his post, Kushan Mitra shared a photograph featuring the iconic Ramanagara Hills, famously known as the backdrop of the fictional town of Rampur in the legendary 1975 Bollywood film, Sholay, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, and Hema Malini. In the photo, Mitra can be seen standing between two Scorpio cars.
While sharing the picture, Mitra curiously asked, “Would Basanti have used a @MahindraScorpio if Sholay was shot today?”
“Standing in front of the hills of Ramnagara, that became the fictional town of Rampur in that iconic 1975 movie. And where Gabbar Singh uttered those immortal words, ‘Kitne Aadmi The’ These are the best part of drives like the #BharatDrive where one discovers such amazing places like this one, which is just off the Bengaluru – Mysuru Expressway. Bollywood pop culture and history beside a New India,” Mitra further added.

The nostalgic musing caught Mahindra’s eye, prompting him to retweet Mitra’s post with the clever twist on the film’s famous line, “Kitne Scorpio the?? (How many Scorpio were there??)”

But Anand Mahindra didn’t stop there. He took the humour up a notch by sharing a meme posted by another user in the comment section. The meme featured the iconic scene from the film where Gabbar Singh, played by the late Amjad Khan, asks his henchman “Kitne Aadmi The?’’ However, in the meme, ‘Aadmi’ with ‘Scorpio,’ prompting henchman to reply, “Do thi sardar”. Amused by this clever twist, Mahindra reposted the meme with a laughing emoji.

“Best part.. Jai would be alive .. at end of the movie,” noted one person, adding to a whimsical twist. Another shared a nostalgic reflection, “Idea अच्छा है (Idea is good) but we can’t imagine Sholey without all that it had. Beauty of our childhood days, not having anything yet the feel of being fulfilled. The content in heart, happiness that was inbuilt The Sholey 2 could be with the modern technology where people can relate.”
