In Shocking Video, Madhya Pradesh Vendor Kneads Momo Dough With Feet
This video has once again highlighted concerns over the declining quality of street food and harmful practices that pose risks to public health.

In a shocking case of food hygiene violations, two momos shop owners from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, have been arrested for allegedly using their feet to knead dough. Rajkumar and Sachin Goswami were taken into custody following complaints from locals about their food stall near the Bargi police station.

A viral video circulating on the internet shows a young man standing on top of a vessel filled with flour, reportedly meant for preparing momos. As the footage progresses, the man is seen kneading the dough by pressing it with his feet, occasionally using his hands to flip the dough before stepping on it again to continue the process. The video, capturing the unsanitary act, was shared on the X platform. “A video of making momos by kneading flour with feet surfaced today in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The police have arrested momos shop owners Rajkumar Goswami and Sachin Goswami,” the caption on the video read.

According to a report by the Free Press Journal, residents of Jabalpur filed a formal written complaint, strongly condemning the unhygienic practice and calling for an investigation. In response, legal action was initiated against the accused under multiple sections, leading to their arrest.

Meanwhile, the video has garnered widespread attention online, with many condemning the food practices depicted and calling for stricter enforcement of hygiene standards. A user wrote, “The strictest action should be taken Where do shameless people come from anyway?”

Another commented, “This is very wrong, action should be taken against them.”

“This is the story of every momos seller, the story of nonveg momos is even dirtier,” a comment read.

A user tried explaining the process of kneading and wrote, “The dough for momos and golgappas cannot be kneaded by hand, either by machine or by foot. Very few people have machines.”

The video has once again highlighted concerns over the declining quality of street food and harmful practices that pose risks to public health. In a similar incident in August, another viral video surfaced, showcasing the unsanitary preparation of soya chaap, raising widespread alarm about food safety standards.
