This was the case for a man who decided to treat himself to an iPhone with the money he earned from his internship. Excited about his purchase, he shared a photo of his new iPhone on social media, expecting to be met with congratulatory comments. Instead, he was bombarded with unsolicited advice from people questioning his choice and criticizing his priorities.

Kundan, known as @_samosa_chai on ‘X’, proudly posted a picture of his iPhone with a caption expressing his joy: “Finally purchased an iPhone with my INTERNSHIP money… Dreams come true for Middle-class boys.” However, the response was not entirely positive. Some users expressed disappointment, commenting that buying an iPhone should not be a middle-class dream.

“Congrats bro…but it makes me sad that your dream is apple iphone, seriously a phone,” commented one user. Another chimed in, suggesting, “Looks like he’s born only for the purpose of buying iPhone and uploading selfies with it,” while a third added, “If you’re middle class and your dream is to buy an iPhone rather than saving the money and supporting your family, you aren’t middle class.”

The fourth exclaimed, “A middle class will always be middle class if has dreams like buying an iPhone.”

Kyunki saari chize practically bhi nhi Sochi jaati ! Kuch chizo mai sirf happiness bhi dekhi jaati hai !,” cheered one supporter. Amidst the sea of well-wishers, another voice resonated, “I came here to read all the pro financial guru advices who would come and say why to but, depreciating asset etc. but this gives a sense of achievement. Congrats bro. I can feel you as I also took something from my first salary.”

In the end, Kundan’s experience raises a serious question: Must we always feel compelled to offer advice on everything, even someone else’s moment of happiness?
