It won’t be wrong to say that food delivery at our doorsteps has made lives easier. But we can’t ignore that saying – ‘everything comes at a price.’ Wondering, what are we trying to say here? Well, a video has emerged online in which a Zomato delivery executive can be seen stealing a packet of food kept at the doorstep. The video making rounds on the Internet is seemingly CCTV footage shared by a Bengaluru-based homeowner.
Aditya Kalra has shared the video on X (formerly Twitter) and claimed that his food was stolen. The man wrote, “We caught Zomato delivery theft on our CCTV camera in Bengaluru. He delivers the order, spots our other food package at the door, quietly picks it up, and goes away. Shocking indeed.”
The video showcases an individual in a Zomato T-shirt. The man was waiting at the doorstep of a house to deliver a food order. After standing there for a while, he saw a packet left unattended. As the clip proceeds, we can see the food delivery agent picking it up and leaving the spot after checking it thoroughly.

Within no time, the clip garnered attention from many including the food-delivery platform. Responding to the incident, Zomato apologised to the user and wrote, “Hi Aditya, we’re sorry that this happened. Please be assured that we take such matters very seriously, and we will take strict action against those responsible for such incidents.”

Hours later, Zomato dropped another post explaining that the food-delivery platform had taken strict action against the delivery partner. It added, “Thank you for bringing this to our notice. Once again, we sincerely apologize for this incident. As communicated earlier, we have zero tolerance policy and have taken strict action against the delivery partner. The safety and wellbeing of our customers is of utmost priority to us.”

As the video started spreading like wildfire, people were left agitated to witness the incident. A user reacted saying, “Not uncommon though… regularly happens with the early morning delivery companies such as BB Daily and Milk Basket as well.”

“This is probably due to lack of training. Also, we see very shabby ways of delivery boys and bags in which the food is carried. Lack of hygiene is one of the major reasons we avoid ordering food on Swiggy or Zomato. We Indians are good at building companies, but bad in the last mile,” added another.
