A viral social media video featuring a woman claiming to have 24 children has been exposed as a fabrication. The woman has been identified as Khushboo Pathak from Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. She had initially claimed to have given birth to 24 children in her 23-year-old marriage. The ages of the children, she said, ranged from two years to 18 years.
She explained that her ‘children’ included both single births and twins. The claim, which garnered significant attention from YouTubers and social media users, prompted an investigation by News18.
When local reporters visited Pathak’s home in Ramnagar block of Ambedkar Nagar district, they discovered the truth that the woman has only two children. The remaining 22 ‘children’ she referred to were actually saplings she had planted, which she symbolically considered her children.
Further scrutiny revealed that Pathak’s ration card lists only two children, corroborating the findings. The case highlights the ease with which misleading information can spread on social media and underscores the importance of verifying such claims before accepting them as truth.
