Indians are celebrating the festival of Lohri and Makar Sankranti and our favourite television actors are no different. On this auspicious day, several TV stars including Tanvi Dogra, Toral Rasputra and others also extend wishes to their fans as they reveal how they are planning to celebrate the festival aid their busy work schedule. Check out here:
Tanvi Dogra, who plays the character of Neeti in the popular show Parineetii shared, “Lohri is a time when my family gathers not just for the bonfire and dances, but for my mom’s amazing cooking. This festival is all about incredible food right from sarson ka saag, makke ki roti, gajak, tilguds, laddoos, gajrela, rewri to berry pulao. I don’t mind cheating on my diet for panjiri, pinni, and makhane di kheer. I pray for abundance and prosperity for my friends and family. May this Lohri fill our hearts and plates with warmth, strengthening our family bonds and traditions.”
Vishal Aditya Singh, known for playing the role of Dev in Chand Jalne Laga also added, “Makar Sankranti holds a special place in my heart because of the traditions it brings. One of my fondest memories is of the exhilarating kite-flying sessions that marked this festival each year. The excitement of selecting unique, eye-catching kites and engaging in friendly competitions added to the joy of the celebration. As a child, the anticipation of finding the perfect kite that could outshine the rest was thrilling. This year, I’ll be celebrating this festival with my ‘Chand Jalne Laga’ family on set; I’m considering bringing kites to add a touch of festivity during our break.”
Udaariyaan’s Armaan aka Anuraj Chahal also said, “Lohri in Punjab is more than just a celebration; It’s about us coming together, feeling hopeful, and celebrating our unity and good times. Before Lohri arrives, Punjab gets all sparkly and lively. One can hear drums beating and folks singing our traditional tunes everywhere. It’s like the state gets a happy makeover! The best part for me is sitting with my favourite people around the bonfire. We chat, laugh, and munch on yummy sweets such as gajak and til laddoos. Here’s to a prosperous Lohri for everyone!”
Gurdeep Punj, who plays Bhoomi in Vanshaj also sent Lohri wishes to her fans and shared that even though she is currently away from her family, she is going to celebrate the festival with her friends in Mumbai. “I’m currently away from Punjab, Punjabis and Sikhs gather in various locations across Mumbai for this joyous celebration. I go to the club to celebrate with friends, and now this festival has become equivalent to family time for me. The essence of Lohri lies in these cherished moments with loved ones, where we come together for delightful food and spirited dances, creating an unforgettable atmosphere right in the heart of Mumbai. Wishing everyone celebrating Lohri a festive and joyous time,” she said.
Aangan Aapno Kaa actor Samar Vermani also added, “Missing the warmth of Lohri’s bonfires, the chill in the air, and the joyous celebrations that make it the heartbeat of Punjab. From the lively bonfires to the taste of moogfaliya, revadiiya, and gacchak, every moment is etched in my heart. Lohri, a festival of family, winter, and pure happiness – dearly missed, always.”
Ishaan Dhawan, who plays Dhruv in Dhruv Tara also sent Lohri wishes to his fans and said, “Lohri, for me, is a celebration of traditions, warmth, and family bonds. Growing up in a Punjabi household, this festival is woven into my childhood memories. The bonfire, the peppy beats of dhol, and the delicious delicacies fill the air with a sense of joy and togetherness. Wishing everyone a Lohri filled with love and laughter.”
Toral Rasputra is known for portraying the character of Mansi in Doree. She recalled her childhood Makar Sankranti days and shared, “I used to make and fly kites. I never learned or flew kites after school, but last year, I actually celebrated the kite-flying festival in the city of Surat. I had visited there with my family to see relatives. We flew kites throughout the daylight hours, giving tough competition to others flying kites from their terraces. We also enjoyed Uttarayan treats like Tilguds, laddoos, and sugarcane juice while vibing to music.”
Happy Lohri!
