The cleanup drive also witnessed the participation of popular actresses including Sophie Choudry, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Esha Deol.

In an ongoing effort to protect the environment, numerous Non-Profit Organizations, in collaboration with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), have been actively involved in various eco-friendly projects. One such recent event was dedicated towards cleaning the banks of the Mithi River, and was organised by the BMC in partnership with the Bhamla Foundation. The cleanup drive witnessed the participation of popular actresses including Sophie Choudry, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Esha Deol and Karishma Tanna. Among them, the Sanju actress was not only engaged in cleaning the beach but also took the opportunity and offer valuable advice to discourage littering and shared the importance of cleanliness.

Soon after the inspiring video was shared on Instagram by a paparazzi page, Tanna’s fans and followers showered love on her and admired her active involvement in the initiative. In the video, Tanna could be heard urging people, “Logon ko bataao, itna kachra naa kare. (Tell people not to litter so much).”

The Bhamla Foundation has consistently engaged celebrities in its environmental initiatives over the years. Renowned actors such as Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, Rajkummar Rao and Arjun Kapoor have participated in similar cleanup drives and supported the cause in the past.

Karishma Tanna is currently on cloud nine, as she’s getting praised for her performance in the Netflix series Scoop. The show is adapted from Jigna Vora’s biographical memoir, Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison and explores the true story of Vora, who was accused in the murder case of mid-day reporter Jyotirmoy Dey in June 2011.

In a recent conversation with Harpers Bazaar, she said, “When I got the role, Hansal sir’s DA, who’s an ex-journalist, asked me to shadow a crime reporter. So, I shadowed a crime reporter for a week. We visited police stations and saw the way she talked, and observed her body language. When I read the script, I saw how detailed and well-written it was for me to understand the graph. But when you visit a police station, see the jail, meet a real cop and crime reporter, everything changes.”

Interestingly, the Hansal Mehta-directed show has become India’s first web series to receive nominations at the Asia Content Awards. The show has earned nominations in two categories, Best Asian TV Series and a nomination for Karishma Tanna in the Best Actress Award category.
