Top 10 features in the LG V10: Always-on second screen, 2TB storage support, dual front cameras and more

LG Electronics has unveiled a new smartphone that a few firsts to its credit and also packs in a number of other interesting features. The V10 is first of LG's V Series phones.

The 10 top features of the LG V10 that will go on sale in South Korea later this month for 800,000 won ($678) without a contract:

1. Second screen

The Second Screen as an inset display above the main 5.7-inch display on the LG V10. The second screen can work independently of the primary display and can be set up as an 'always on' display without impacting the battery life. The Second Screen can display the weather, time, date and battery icon when the main display is off. With the main display on, the Second Screen can be set to convert to a dedicated launching area for shortcuts or selected apps.

2. Dual front cameras

The LG V10 features 5 megapixel dual front cameras with two separate lenses to capture standard 80 degree selfies or wide angle selfies of 120 degrees, without the need to pan the smartphone.

3. Manual video mode

With the Manual Video Mode, users have more control over the videos they shoot with the ability to adjust shutter speed, frame rate, ISO, white balance and focus while recording.

4. 2 TB microSD card support

The phone is compatible with cards of up to 2 terabytes. So there's no worrying about storage while shooting those 4K videos.

5. Removeable battery

The phone includes a 3,000mAh removable battery. A practice that is slowly losing favour from smartphone makers. The phone comes with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology and takes 40 minutes to get a 50 per cent charge.

6. Durability

The LG V10's body uses stainless steel and a silicone skin and LG claims the phone has passed drop tests for shock conducted by an independent third party.

7. 15 second auto edit

Users can create a short video highlight clip by automatically eliminating blurred frames and static scenes.

8. Audio monitor and 3 directional microphones

Users can adjust the sensitivity of the three microphones during video recording and directly monitor and control audio input, including directional recording capability to highlight sound from one particular location.

9. 32 bit Hi-Fi DAC

The V10 features 32 bit Hi-Fi DAC by ESS Technology, designers of high-performance audio products for professionals.

10. Colour options

The phone will be available in Space Black, Luxe White, Modern Beige, Ocean Blue and Opal Blue.
