Spotify Brings Back Unlimited Access To Song Lyrics For Free Users
Spotify started to bring a lot of basic features to its premium tier which was never going to force people to pay for its services.

Spotify has reinstated unlimited access to song lyrics for users. Earlier this year, the company had limited lyrics to just three songs per month for non-subscribers in an effort to promote its new subscription tiers, starting at $11 (around Rs 900) per month. This restriction faced significant backlash, leading to the recent policy reversal.

During a conversation with Engadget, a spokesperson from Spotify said, “At Spotify, we’re always testing and iterating. This means the availability of our features can vary across tiers and between markets and devices. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be expanding Lyrics availability for Spotify Free users so more people can enjoy viewing more lyrics globally.”

During the company’s recent earnings call, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek revealed that they are focused on improving the free version of Spotify. He noted,“We are prioritizing enhancements in our free product pipeline based on existing performance in certain markets. Further additional improvements will be integrated into our free experience in the coming months.”

Spotify has introduced a limited-time offer for users in India. New subscribers to Spotify Premium can now access the Individual plan for just Rs 59 for three months until August 25. This promotion provides Premium users with enhanced streaming quality, ad-free listening, personalised queues, the ability to play songs in any order, offline downloads and real-time listening with friends.

It's important to note that this offer is not available to users who have previously purchased the Premium plan or currently have an active subscription. Additionally, Spotify has introduced notable discounts for its Family, Duo and Student plans. Users also have the flexibility to cancel their subscription at any time if they decide not to continue with the plan.
