Google Pixel 9 series has been unveiled in India this week and we also know how much the new Pixel phones cost in the country. This is the first time we are seeing Google bring its full bouquet of Pixel devices to the market, including the second-gen foldable, Watch 3 and Buds Pro 2.
The Pixel 9 is expectedly the regular variant and features a 6.3-inch Actua display which is also the screen size of the Pixel 9 Pro this year. The 9 Pro XL sports a large 6.8-inch LTPO OLED unit.
The Pixel 9 supports 60Hz and 120Hz refresh rates that need to be changed manually, while the Pro models come with an LTPO panel which supports adaptive refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz. All three get Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the cover screen and the back panel.
The Pixel 9 comes with a thickness of 8.5mm and weighs 198 grams, while the Pixel 9 Pro and the 9 Pro XL also measure at 8.5mm but weigh 199 grams and 221 grams, respectively. The devices get IP68 rating which makes them dust and water resistant.
All the Pixel 9 series models are powered by the new Tensor G4 chipset which comes with advanced multi-modality AI tech built into the device. You get them with 12GB or 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. The phones come with Android 14 out of the box and a host of new AI features built into various apps from day one. Google also promises its recent 7 year OS and Pixel Drop update policy to keep the device last longer.
Pixel 9 gets a dual rear camera system, while the Pixel 9 Pros come with a triple camera setup. You get a 50MP wide sensor with OIS + EIS and a 48MP ultrawide lens. The front of the phone has a 10.5MP dual shooter.
Coming to the Pixel 9 Pro and the 9 Pro XL, you have the same setup which consists of a 50MP wide primary sensor with OIS + EIS, along with a 48MP ultrawide lens, and a 48MP telephoto lens that also gets OIS and EI. For selfies you have a large 42MP dual camera on the front.
