Amazon to launch video service in India: Report
Conversations with music labels and producers have reportedly begun for sourcing Instant Video content.

Amazon's Instant Video service is going to be launched in India later this year, according to a report on Monday that says Amazon Prime is also coming to the country.

According to The Economic Times, the company, which has now been in India for two years, is looking to turn the country into its second biggest market after the US, with Instant Video and Prime - a subscription e-commerce service - launching within the year.

Conversations with music labels and producers have reportedly begun for sourcing Instant Video content.

In June The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Netflix was eyeing a 2016 launch in India, meaning Indian consumers could have two major new VOD services to choose from in the coming year.
