Politician and Kannada star Shiva Rajkumar’s wife Geetha Shivarajkumar will contest the Lok Sabha 2024 elections from Shivamogga. Currently, BY Raghavendra — the elder son of ex-Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa — is the sitting MP of Shivamogga. As per the reports, Geetha Shivarajkumar has prepared well for the upcoming elections and is quite confident about winning it. Now, in a major boost to the election campaign of the politician, many film producers have also decided to campaign for her extensively. A press conference of the producers was held at Shiva Rajkumar’s residence that included Producers Association President Umesh Banakar and Sa Ra Govindu. This conference also included Minister Madhu Bangarappa and Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce President NM Suresh. Actress Shruti, producers SA Chinnegowda, and KP Srikanth were also present at the event.
Recently, at an event, Geetha Shivarajkumar shared her excitement for preparing for elections. The politician revealed that a few years ago, she had contested from a different party and was defeated due to minor mistakes. This time, she claims not to be defeated. She said in an interview, “Shimoga is not new to me. From the beginning, I was going to Shimoga. There are no newcomers (here), we know everyone here. I hope I win.”
According to the reports, she is already settled in Shimoga and owns two houses there. She will be staying with her husband, Dr Shiva Rajkumar, and talked about having a meeting with the leaders and party workers of Congress next week. She also talked about spending her maximum time in Shivamogga.
Shiva Rajkumar, supporting his wife, said in an interview, “Whenever Geetha (will) say, I will be there. We are going to face the election, we need to believe that we will win. We are going with the same faith.”
At the event, Geetha Shivarajkumar also talked about her father, Sarekoppa Bangarappa, and said that she had seen all the work her father had done. The politician remembered that her father became an MLA when she was two years old. She said that he is a man of simplicity and we had grown up watching her.
As per a report published in The New Indian Express, Shiva Rajkumar and Geetha Shivarajkumar have chalked out a plan to hold over 300 hustings events at hoblis (cluster of adjoining villages) across the constituency to reach out to people at the grassroots.
