The upcoming film of National Award-winning director Sekhar Kammula kicked off in Hyderabad with a pooja ceremony on Thursday. The yet-to-be-titled ensemble-cast film will feature Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna sharing screen space. As of now, the project is temporarily referred to as #DNS, derived from the director and male leads’ first names.

The project details are still under wraps, but shooting resumed on Wednesday. Dhanush worked on important scenes on his first day, and there’s a schedule planned for this month. The film is produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under Sree Venkateshwara Cinemas, presented by Sonali Narang.

Producers Dhanush and Sekhar and a few others attended the pooja ceremony. Niketh Bommi has been roped in as the cinematographer for the project. The remaining cast and crew are yet to be announced by the makers. The film is set to be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.

Sekhar’s previous films, Fidaa and Love Story, were huge hits, thus creating high expectations for this one. Dhanush’s Captain Miller hit Tamil screens on January 12 for Sankranthi and will be released in Telugu on January 25. Additionally, the actor is returning to writing and directing with his 50th project, #D50, which is currently in progress. The cast includes Nithya Menen, SJ Suryah, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and others in key roles.

Nagarjuna’s movie “Naa Saami Ranga” came out on January 14 and got a good response. He hasn’t announced his next projects yet, but there’s talk that he’s listening to scripts. Rashmika, last seen in “Animal,” has upcoming films like “Rainbow” and “The Girlfriend” in Telugu, and “Chaava” in Hindi. She’s also reprising her role as Srivalli in Sukumar’s “Pushpa: The Rule.”

Meanwhile, Dhanush’s Captain Miller was released on Friday and opened to good box office collection and positive reviews.
