Darshan Is Being Targeted, Says Kaatera Producer Rockline Venkatesh On FIR Controversy
Kaatera team courted controversy after an FIR was filed against them, citing violation of a club's closing time during the film’s success party.

Challenging Star Darshan has been in the limelight due to the success of his recently-released film, Kaatera. The action entertainer has impressed the audience, and people are flocking to theatres to watch the film. It is directed by Tharun Sudhir. Kaatera released in theatres on December 29, 2023. As the film received a tremendous response, the whole team at Kaatera were delighted and went on to celebrate it with a success party. But the party turned into a controversy as an FIR was filed against the owner of the club due to a violation of the club’s closing time. It was reported that many members of the Kaatera team were also called upon for questioning regarding the case. Now, the producer of the film, Rockline Venkatesh, has talked to the media after being questioned by the police.

According to reports, the whole team of Kaatera was celebrating its success at a pub in Rajajinagar in Bengaluru, Karnataka, when police raided the location and an FIR was filed against the owner of the club. The pub was open longer than its curfew time, and as a result, a case was filed against the owners. Many members of the team, including Darshan, Abhishek Ambareesh, Aali Dhananjay, Satish Ninasam, Rockline Venkatesh, Tharun Sudhir, Chikkanna, and music composer-singer V Harikrishna, were asked to appear before the police.

After the questioning, Rockline Venkatesh said that it was not a party but just a dinner. “We all went there, considering it a small dinner with the team. We were just the customers of the club,” he said, adding that there was no commotion. He said that all of this is actually a conspiracy against Darshan. “Kaatera has been breaking records, and this hasn’t gone down well with some people. So many people party till late at night, but the police never arrest or question them,” he said and also posed the question, “Why is all this happening with our team only?”

A case has been registered against Prasantha, the restobar manager, and Shashi Rekha Jagadish, the owner. It was reported that they had permission to run until 12 AM, but they went on to function until 3:30 AM in the morning.
