We Planned 100 Days of Next Term, Oppn Planned Its 104th ‘Gaali’ for Me: PM Modi at Rising Bharat Summit
Speaking at the summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the abuses "will not make any difference" as he gets the blessings of the poor who benefit from his government's welfare schemes

While the government is presenting its report card of the last 10 years and planning for the first 100 days of its next term, the Opposition is busy hurling its 104th abuse at me, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the CNN-News18 Rising Bharat Summit on Wednesday.

“Elections are around the corner. Dates have been announced. There is an atmosphere of debates. The government is giving its report card of the work done in the last 10 years, is making a roadmap for the next 25 years and the plan for first 100 days of the third term,” PM Modi said.

“On the other hand, our Opposition just hurled its 104th abuse at me. They called me Aurangzeb. They have planned to eliminate me,” he added.

“These abuses will not make any difference,” he said, asserting that he gets blessings of the poor who have been receiving all the benefits meant for them, unlike in the past when a huge chunk of welfare money used to be siphoned off.

Speaking about the image of India on the global stage before he came to power in 2014, PM Modi said the citizens of the country were also losing confidence.

“When a nation is losing its credibility in the world, the citizens also lose their confidence. Before 2014, corruption was the topic of discussion in households. The government of the time used to defend its scams. But our government is taking strict action against the corrupt. Today powerful and corrupt leaders are asking why the agencies are targeting them. This is the change that has come about in the last 10 years,” the PM said.

“Government offices back then were not service centres, but power centres. Now, things have changed. We have introduced online services. Now, tenders are also online. 2G was such a big scam, wonder what they would have done with 5G.”

“Today, hiding the money trail is very difficult. That is why cash is being recovered from the houses of TMC and Congress leaders. This is the reason they are so frustrated,” the PM added.

During the speech, the PM said more than Rs 34 lakh crore has been transferred to the beneficiaries of numerous welfare schemes over the last 10 years, adding that most of the amount would have been pocketed by the corrupt under the previous government, a reference to the Congress-led UPA dispensation during 2004-14.

The next five years would be of “unprecedented transformation, growth and expansion”, he said, asserting that it is his guarantee.
