Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday lashed out at the Congress over the bifurcation of the state and creating Telangana. Speaking at a public meeting in Krishna district, Reddy said the Telanagan Bill will be defeated in the state Assembly. He said, "We will defeat the Telangana Bill in state Assembly." The winter session will commence on December 12 wherein Telangana Bill will be taken up.
He also offered to step down for a united state. "If the Congress is doing this for political gains, then I'd like to say that make anyone the chief minister, be it K Chandrashekhar Rao, Jaganmohan Reddy or Chandrababu Naidu but let the state be united."
He said Andhra people were punished for being loyal to Congress. He asked, "Why are the people of Andhra being treated this way? I want to ask the people sitting in Delhi, of we are being punished for being loyal to the congress party?"
Earlier, YSR Congress chief and Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy was meeting leaders from various backgrounds asking for their support for a united Andhra.
