New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Subramanian Swamy has hit out at Sonia Gandhi for the legal notice to her by a Kerala contractor over unpaid dues.
"The agreement was signed between Congress and the construction company. If the state unit does not pay, it is the central unit which is liable to pay. The company had sent a private notice to her and she ignored it, so the liability is on her. The Congress people respect a leader only if he/she leads party to victory. So there will be infighting and she will find a lesser number of people supporting her," said Swamy.
M/S Heather Constructions managing partner Rajeev has sent a legal notice to Congress president Sonia Gandhi and a few other Congress leaders for non payment of dues.
The other leaders who have been named in the legal notice include Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Development Studies Chairman Ramesh Chennithala, former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy and Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president VM Sudheeran.
According to party insiders the dues were not cleared because of an intra party feud in the Kerala unit of the Congress.
Heather Constructions was given the contract to construct the institute in Thiruvananthapuram but the dues were not cleared.
