New Delhi / Etawah: Expelled Samajwadi Party (SP) general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Ramgopal Yadav broke down at a press conference on Monday as he launched a scathing attack on party state chief Shivpal Yadav over his "whimsical manners".
At a press conference in Lucknow, a teary-eyed Ramgopal alleged Shivpal Yadav was distributing party tickets in a whimsical manner for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
The attack comes amid indications that SP will elect a new leader in the Rajya Sabha to replace Ramgopal. Shivpal Yadav, with the backing of party patriarch Mulayam Singh yadav, had expelled Ramgopal from the party for six years on October 23, 2016.

Ramgopal also called on the voters of the state to give him "justice". An emotional Ramgopal said, “If people believe injustice has been done to me, then please give me justice. I am not too greedy.”
Earlier, Ramgopal had said he believed himself to be part of SP, even if he was not operating officially for the party.
Ramgopal is a cousin of Mulayam and Shivpal, and a strong supporter of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. During the ongoing family drama he had shot off a letter to party workers endorsing Akhilesh as the future of SP.
