Probe into Adarsh Housing scam slow: BJP
The BJP leader also objected to the sudden transfer of CBI Joint Director Rishiraj from the Adarsh case after filing of chargesheet against Ashok Chavan.

New Delhi: BJP Secretary Kirit Somaiya on Tuesday met Minister of State in PMO V Narayansamy to complain that the CBI probe into the Adarsh Housing scam is slow, contradictory and hit by hurdles and presented his set of demands in the case.

"Investigation and action in the Adarsh scam is not only slow but also contradictory. The role and actions of Government of India and Maharashtra government raise several questions. The CBI probe has been going on for 18 months," Somaiya said in his complaint.

"I have brought to the notice of the Minister in PMO V Narayanasamy the way the Centre and State (Maharashtra) government is trying to save Congress leaders in the Adarsh scam... We lodged a strong protest with him in not only dilly-dallying but the manner in which the Government of India, CBI and Enforcement Directorate is mishandling the Adarsh issue," he said.

He alleged that when CBI filed a chargesheet against former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, the state government said it does not want the CBI probe.

Somaiya also objected to the sudden transfer of CBI Joint Director Rishiraj from the Adarsh case after filing of charge sheet against Chavan.

"The investigation by the Enforcement Directorate has also been a non-starter. Money laundering issue has not been investigated till now," he said.

The BJP leader demanded that Rishiraj should be reinstated, strong and immediate action should be taken by ED, Central government as well as the Defence Ministry.

Somaiya also levelled money laundering, land grabbing and benami transaction charges against Sunil Tatkare, a minister in the Maharashtra government.

"Tatkare, his friends and family and their group of companies seem to be involved in lots of benami transactions, parking scam money in a web of companies and then investing in agriculture land and creation of land banks in an illegal manner," Somaiya said.
