New Delhi: In his toughest message against hate speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said anti-minority comments were 'uncalled for'. Modi said, "Some unfortunate comments have been made which are totally uncalled for."
Sending out a stern message, Modi said that violence against any community will not be tolerated. "Discrimination against any community won’t be tolerated," Modi said in an interview to news agency UNI.
Hitting out at the opposition, Modi said "Opposition to the Land Bill is politically motivated, but I am open to suggestions".
President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday approved re-promulgation of the Land Ordinance, which could not be converted into law during the recently concluded Budget Session of Parliament, for the third time.
Modi said bank's Non Performing Assets and farm sector are priority areas for his government.
Modi's statement assumed significance as the opposition is constantly attacking him by calling him anti-poor, anti-farmer, pro-corporate and accusing his government of being a 'suit-boot ki sarkar'.
