Naxals have stepped up attacks on the railways and security forces on the second day of their 48-hour bandh.
Dhanbad: Maoists blew up a stretch of railway tracks under Dhanbad rail division early on Thursday on the second day of their two-day bandh, briefly disrupting train services in the area.
Explosives were blasted on the tracks between Lichitpur and Tetulmari railway stations, railway sources said here.
The blast uprooted about three feet of track, the sources said, adding several important trains including Rajdhani Express were held up at various stations following the damage before the services were restored around 9 am.
The Maoists are observing the two-day bandh in protest against the killing of their senior leader Azad in Andhra Pradesh.
