25. Kota is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Chhattisgarh and is part of Bilaspur Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Kota falls in Bilaspur district and North region of Chhattisgarh. It is categorised as a semi-urban seat.
There are a total of 1,98,546 voters in the seat, which includes 99,394 male voters, and 99,142 female voters. In the 2018 Chhattisgarh elections, Kota recorded a voter turnout of 75.13%. In 2013 the turnout was 77.31%, and in 2008 it was 71.49%.
In 2013, Dr Renu Jogi of INC won the seat by a margin of 5,089 votes (3.67%). Dr Renu Jogi secured 42.16% of the total votes polled.
INC won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 9,811 votes (8.09%), registering 45.59% of the total votes polled.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP led in the Kota Assembly segment of the Bilaspur Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.
