Jammu and Kashmir put under President's rule
Assembly dissolved after fall of Azad govt on July 7.

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly was dissolved and the state was placed under the governor's rule late on Thursday.

The announcement was made in a state government notification.

Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad had resigned ahead of a trust vote on Monday, creating a political crisis.

The trust vote was necessitated as the People's Democratic Party (PDP) withdrew from the Congress-led coalition government following their differences over the land allotment to the Amarnath shrine board.
