From Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav, political leaders across parties celebrated Holi, the festival of colours on Monday ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

Referring to the idol consecration of Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, Shah said Holi this year was special for all “Ram bhakts” because the lord was celebrating the festival of colours after a gap of 500 years.

Rajnath Singh on Sunday celebrated Holi with Army jawans in Leh and lauded them for protecting the country from enemies while braving extreme weather conditions.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda also celebrated at his residence along with party workers, MP Manoj Tiwari, Bansuri Swaraj and Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva.

Actor-turned-politician Manoj Tiwari also enthralled the audience with a delightful folk song in an apparent dig at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other key AAP leaders, who are currently in jail.

Tiwari’s celebration included singing, “Koi khele rail mein, koi khele jail mein” (some play in railway, some in jail), which was met with cheers from the crowd.

Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav also celebrated Holi with his party workers and family members, including Uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav in Etawah’s Saifai.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also participated in a ‘Holi Milan’ program at his residence in Dehradun.

BJP leader Taranajit Sandhu, who recently joined the saffron party, on Monday celebrated Holi with the locals and wished the people of the country well.

Congress candidate Vikas Thakre also celebrated Holi with Maha Vikas Aaghadi leader Anil Deshmukh during the celebration program in Nagpur.

Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini also took part in ‘Phoolon Wali’ with his family. He recently took oath as the chief minister of the state.
