New Delhi: Naveen Patnaik's Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is expected to formally join the Third Front on Sunday.
Though it is yet to make an official commitment on joining the third front, the BJD would send a representative to the Third Front meeting called by the left as well as the dinner meeting called by Mayawati on sunday evening.
On Sunday it will be the first official Third Front meeting that the BJD is attending after parting ways with the BJP last week.
The NDA's loss, clearly going to the advantage of the third front there. The BJD had kept away from Tumkur rally where the front was formally launched.
Meanwhile, earlier Rajya Sabha member BJ Panda said he will attend the meeting as an observer.
"I am going as an observer because they are like-minded parties," Panda told an Oriya television channel.
The BJD of Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik last week snapped its 11-year-old alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
