New Delhi: Union Minister Beni Prasad Verma and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vinay Katiyar are expected to reply to the notice served by the Election Commission to them on Saturday. Both of them have been accused of prima facie violating the Model Code of Conduct.
Taking cognizance of their alleged controversial remarks against Narendra Modi and Azam Khan respectively in their election speeches, the Election Commission had issued a show cause notice to Verma and Katiyar.
They were asked to put forth their stands on the charges by Saturday morning failing which the EC said it will take action without further referring the matter to them.
