Hyderabad: Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi is all set to unveil his political party's name, its policies and programmes at a public meeting in Tirupati on Tuesday.
Organisers were giving finishing touches to the arrangements for the 'mega show' which is expected to be attended by about 10 lakh people pouring in from all over the state at the sprawling Avilala Cheruvu, the venue on the outskirts of Tirupati.
The meeting, which will serve as a platform for the matinee idol to deliver his maiden political speech, will be held from 1600 hours to 1900 hours and Chiranjeevi is likely to be the sole speaker, sources said.
Arrangements have been made to enable the attendees even in the last row to witness Chiranjeevi speak and watch the proceedings on giant digital screens, they added.
Over 126-acre ground has been cleared of bushes at the venue, where an AICC Plenary was held in 1992 during P V Narasimha Rao's regime.
The mega star's fans are using all modes of transport — from trains to cabs — to reach the temple town.
Ticket aspirants are said to have sponosred a large number of buses and cabs to ferry their supporters.
Also, 10 special trains have been booked to take the participants and mediapersons from Hyderabad.
The public meeting will be keenly watched in the state's political circles as Chiranjeevi will be announcing the thrust areas, agenda and policies of his party, which would determine its impact in the assembly elections next year.
Meanwhile, other parties, like Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the Left, would decide their stance on Chiranjeevi's party on the basis of his stand on various issues.
A pro-Telangana stance by Chiranjeevi would possibly inspire the TRS to have an alliance with the actor's party. The Left, particularly CPI, may favour an electoral alliance with Chiranjeevi's party if it adopts pro-poor policies.
No other political event in the recent past had evoked so much interest as Chiranjeevi's political foray and is reminiscent of legendary hero NTR's feat 25 years ago when he stormed to power within nine months of entering politics.
Chiranjeevi's advisors, including his actor-brothers Pavan Kalyan and Nagababu and brother-in-law and noted producer Allu Aravind are already camping in the temple town to supervise the arrangements.
The details of the party's name, flag and agenda are kept under wraps and the mega show has all the ingredients of a Chiranjeevi blockbuster movie.
