As many as 60 players, including 21 overseas cricketers, were retained across five franchises. At the same time, a total of 29 players were released from their existing squads.

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) issued the complete list of retained and released players on October 19. The window for the five franchises to retain players forthcoming edition of the tournament came ended on October 15.

As many as 60 players, including 21 overseas cricketers, were retained across five franchises. At the same time, a total of 29 players were released from their existing squads ahead of the WPL 2024 auction slated for December 9.

A total of 165 cricketers from across the globe will go under the hammer in Mumbai. Of these, 104 are Indians and 61 overseas.

A total of 30 slots are available across the five franchises with nine of them for overseas players.

Deandra Dottin and Kim Garth are the two players with the highest reserve price of Rs 50 lakh each.

Gujarat Giants released the maximum number of players – 11 – among all five franchises, retaining 8 cricketers. Delhi Capitals held back most of its squad members, releasing just 3 players from the squad.

Mumbai Indians retained 13 players and let go of 4 cricketers. The Royal Challengers Bangalore released 7 players and retained 11 while UP Warriorz retained 13 and released 4 players from the squad.
