School Timings in Kashmir Changed Due to Fall in Temperature

The Kashmir school education authorities have directed institutes to change school timings from today, November 1 due to a fall in temperature. The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has ordered schools falling under municipal limits of Srinagar district to conduct classes between 10 am and 3 pm. Previously, classes in Srinagar would commence from 9 am and go on till 3 pm, reported Hindustan Times.

For schools that do not fall outside the municipal limits of Srinagar and belong to other districts and areas of Kashmir province, their timing has been revised. Schools in other districts will start classes from 10.30 am and continue till 3.30 pm. This means classes in both government and private schools of Kashmir will also start an hour later than the previous time.

“All the concerned institutions must strictly adhere to the given orders and instructions, and any deviation in this regard will be viewed very seriously,” the director of school education, in Kashmir, stated.

Meanwhile, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is gearing up to release the date sheet of the class 10 board exams 2024. It is likely to be released by the first week of November. The official date and time is yet to be confirmed by the board. Once available, students will be able to access and review the date sheet on the official websites at cbse.gov.in and cbse.nic.in. The CBSE has previously disclosed that the board exam for the year 2024 is scheduled to take place from February 15 to April 10, spanning approximately 55 days.

CBSE has also published a subject-wise marks breakdown for all students and teachers. The marking scheme has been provided for 83 subjects in class 10 and 121 subjects in class 12. CBSE has also recently released the dates of the Class 10 and 12 practical exams for 2024, which are scheduled to take place from November 14 to December 14, for schools that are closed for the winter break.
