'Lets Keep Going..': Rishabh Pant Cheers for India During World Cup 2023 Clash vs New Zealand
Rishabh Pant cheered for the Indian team from his home as he uploaded a story on Instagram for the Men in Blue to 'keep going' against New Zealand in World Cup 2023.

Team India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant put on his cheering boots as he was seen supporting the Men in Blue during the ODI World Cup 2023 contest between India and New Zealand. The two table-toppers and unbeaten teams in the World Cup so far came face to face in Dharamsala on Sunday, October 22.

The Kiwis were without their talismanic captain Kane Williamson, with Tom Latham leading the Black Caps, whereas Indian skipper Rohit Sharma opted to make two changes to his side, with Suryakumar Yadav and Mohammed Shami recalled to replace Shardul Thakur and the injured Hardik Pandya.

The Men in Blue started the game on top as they got two early wickets, Devon Conway was dismissed on a duck while Mohammed Shami got rid of Will Young on 17.

Then came the 157-run partnership between Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra which put the Indian bowlers under pressure. Ravindra was earlier dropped by Ravindra Jadeja on 12 and the Kiwi batter ended up scoring 75 runs.

Shami again provided India with the key breakthrough when his slower delivery was mishit by Ravindra and Shubman Gill took the catch near the boundary ropes.

India were right back in the contest when Kuldeep Yadav removed New Zealand captain Tom Latham on five and Rishabh Pant subsequently put out a story on Instagram as he cheered for the Indian team.

“Let’s keep going,” wrote Pant on his Instagram story when Latham was dismissed by Kuldeep.

Following the quick wickets of Rachin Ravindra and Latham, Daryl Mitchell smashed a century in 100 balls and looked in good touch. He became the first New Zealand batter since Glenn Turner in 1975 to hit a century against the Indian team in ODI World Cup history after a long gap of 48 years.

Mitchell’s century was also the first time a player has smashed a ton in the ODI World Cup 2023 against the hosts.
