Israel-Hamas War: Modi, UAE President Exchange Views West Asia Situation, Call for Early Resolution

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed on Friday exchanged views on the situation in West Asia and shared concerns about terrorism, violence and the loss of civilian lives. The two leaders called for an early resolution of the security and humanitarian situation in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, stressing on the importance of durable peace, security and stability in the region.

Israel is engaged in a major ground offensive in the Gaza Strip against Hamas, which carried out attacks on several Israeli cities on October 7.

During the telephonic conversation, the prime minister also discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in diverse areas within the framework of the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. In a post on X, he said the two leaders agreed on the need for early resolution of the security and humanitarian situation and that a durable regional peace, security and stability is in everyone’s interest.

“Had a good conversation with my brother HH @MohamedBinZayed, President of UAE, on the West Asia situation. We share deep concerns at the terrorism, deteriorating security situation and loss of civilian lives,” Prime Minister Modi said. “We agree on the need for early resolution of the security and humanitarian situation and that a durable regional peace, security and stability is in everyone’s interest,” he added.
