The IPL 2024 auction is all set to place on December 19 at the Coca-Cola Arena, Dubai.
It is not going to be a mega auction as all the franchises have retained their core teams for the next season of the cash-rich league. However, there will still be major star attraction with players like Travis Head, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Shardul Thakur and other cricketing superstars going under the hammer.
The top price bracket of the auction is set at INR 2 crore as a total of 23 players have placed their names in that category.
Several superstars in that category are expected to break the bank at the auction ceremony.
Australia’s 2023 World Cup-winning players – Travis Head, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc might hit the paydirt as several franchises will look to get their hands on them.
Meanwhile, only three players have put their names in the top bracket – Umesh Yadav, Harshal Patel and Shardul Thakur.
Umesh and Shardul were released by Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the auction as the duo failed to perform well for them last season. RCB released Harshal after his below-par season despite being one of the highest-paid players of the franchise.
